Saysomething

East Holmes Local School District is excited to announce the launch of the "Say Something" Anonymous Reporting System (ARS) in partnership with Sandy Hook Promise, a national leader in school safety programs. This initiative is part of East Holmes' ongoing commitment to creating a safer, more supportive environment for all students, educators, and community members.

The Say Something ARS program is designed to educate students and staff on how to identify warning signs and threats, whether online or in person, and respond effectively. Through this program, students learn to recognize at-risk behaviors in their peers, take them seriously, and act promptly. They can choose to talk to a trusted adult or report concerns anonymously via the Say Something ARS mobile app, website, or a 24/7/365 crisis hotline:

Empowering Students to Look Out for Each Other

Today’s students often have unique insights into their peers' lives and struggles, and East Holmes is equipping them with tools to help each other. The Say Something ARS program teaches students to look for danger signs in texts, videos, and photos shared on social media, as well as in face-to-face interactions. This critical training empowers students to protect their peers by acting quickly and ensuring that at-risk behaviors don’t go unnoticed or unaddressed.

Through the Say Something ARS, students can report concerns to a trained team that monitors and manages submitted tips. This system allows East Holmes to respond effectively to potential threats while fostering a culture of compassion and support.

A Trusted Partner in School Safety

Sandy Hook Promise has implemented programs like Say Something ARS across all 50 states, reaching over 21 million students and adults. Their age-appropriate, research-based initiatives have a proven track record in preventing school shootings, suicides, bullying, and other harmful behaviors.

East Holmes Local Schools believes that Say Something ARS will make a positive impact on school safety and student well-being, and we are proud to bring this valuable program to our district.
