Service Learning Team

This holiday season, Berlin School’s Service Learning Team took a meaningful trip to shop for items to fill Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes, bringing hope and joy to children in need around the world. The students thoughtfully selected a variety of items, from hygiene essentials and school supplies to toys and personal notes, carefully choosing each item to make the boxes special.

The shopping trip, organized by the Service Learning Team leaders, was an opportunity for students to actively practice kindness and generosity. With a mission to create a positive impact, they picked out items that would make a difference, from colorful notebooks and crayons to toothbrushes, socks, and small games. Each shoebox is packed with love and care, and the students even included personalized notes and drawings to make each gift feel extra personal.

The experience helped students understand the value of giving and emphasized the joy that comes from helping others. By participating in this project, they’ve learned that even small gestures can have a powerful impact. These shoeboxes, once delivered, will bring smiles and a bit of holiday magic to children who might not otherwise receive a gift.

Thank you to the Berlin Service Learning Team for their hard work, and to all those who supported the project. Together, we are spreading compassion, one shoebox at a time!
