Leadership

At Berlin Elementary, we believe that every student has the potential to be a leader. This year, our school is excited to embark on a journey of growth and self-discovery as we explore the 5 Core Paradigms of Leadership. These paradigms are the foundation of our approach to developing confident, responsible, and proactive students who are ready to make a positive impact on their school and community.

The 5 Core Paradigms of Leadership we’re focusing on this year are:

Everyone Can Be a Leader: At Berlin Elementary, we recognize that leadership isn’t just for a select few. We believe that each student has unique talents and strengths, and everyone can lead in their way. Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to take on leadership roles in the classroom, on the playground, and in school-wide activities.

Everyone Has Genius: We are embracing the idea that every student has something special to offer. Whether it's creativity, problem-solving skills, kindness, or the ability to work well with others, we celebrate the different ways our students shine. Our goal is to help each child discover their own “genius” and feel confident in sharing it with the world.

Change Starts with Me: Personal responsibility is a key part of leadership. We’re teaching our students that they have the power to create positive change in their own lives and in the world around them. By learning to take ownership of their actions and decisions, they’ll develop a sense of accountability and confidence.

We Empower Others: Leadership isn’t just about taking charge—it’s about lifting others up. We are teaching our students to work together, support one another, and inspire their peers to be their best selves. Through teamwork and collaboration, they will learn that they can achieve more together than they can alone.

Growth Is a Journey: At Berlin Elementary, we understand that learning and leadership are ongoing processes. We encourage our students to embrace challenges, learn from their mistakes, and celebrate their progress. By focusing on growth, we help our students build resilience and develop a mindset that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Throughout the school year, students will participate in activities, lessons, and projects that bring these paradigms to life. Our teachers are integrating leadership principles into everyday learning, ensuring that students not only understand these concepts but also have opportunities to practice and apply them in real-world situations.

We’re excited to see how this focus on the 5 Core Paradigms of Leadership will inspire our students to become confident, capable leaders both in and out of the classroom. At Berlin Elementary, we’re not just learning about leadership—we’re living it!
