Final Day

The final day of the school year at Berlin School was a whirlwind of excitement, emotions, and unforgettable moments as students and staff celebrated the conclusion of another successful academic year. The day was packed with fun activities, heartfelt traditions, and a strong sense of community.

Kickball Showdown: Staff vs. 6th Graders

The highlight of the day was the much-anticipated kickball game between the staff and the 6th graders. The game, held on the school's sports field, drew cheers and laughter from students of all grades. Teachers and staff members donned their athletic gear, ready to take on the energetic 6th graders in a friendly yet competitive match.

"It’s a great way to end the year and build camaraderie," said Mr. Hochstetler, the PE teacher and organizer of the event. "The students have been looking forward to this all year, and it’s a fun way for them to interact with their teachers outside the classroom."

The game was filled with exciting plays, dramatic catches, and plenty of playful banter. In the end, it didn’t matter who won; the joy and laughter shared by everyone involved were the real victories of the day.

 6th Grade Clap Out

Following the kickball game, the school held its traditional 6th Grade Clap Out. This emotional and celebratory event honored the graduating 6th graders as they prepared to transition to middle school. Students from all grades lined the hallways, clapping and cheering as the 6th graders took their final walk through the school.

Tears of joy and nostalgia were visible on many faces as the soon-to-be middle schoolers received high-fives and hugs from their younger peers and teachers. "It's a bittersweet moment," said 6th grade teacher Mrs. Sauernheimer. "We’re so proud of them and excited for their futures, but we’ll miss having them here."

 The Final Bus Ride Home

As the day drew to a close, the final bell rang, signaling the start of summer vacation. Students gathered their belongings and headed to the buses for the last ride home of the school year. The bus rides were filled with chatter about summer plans, excitement for the break, and a few teary goodbyes.

For the 6th graders, this ride was particularly poignant as it marked the end of their time at Berlin School. "I’m going to miss my friends and teachers so much," said 6th grader Olivia Austin. "But I’m also really excited for middle school."

A Memorable Send-Off

The day's activities, from the spirited kickball game to the emotional clap out and final bus ride, created lasting memories for students and staff alike. The staff reflected on the day’s events, saying, "Today encapsulates the spirit of Berlin School. We celebrate together, support each other, and look forward to the future with optimism and excitement."

The final day of school at Berlin School was not just a celebration of the end of the academic year, but a testament to the strong sense of community and the lasting bonds formed within the school. As students waved goodbye and the buses pulled away, the cheers and smiles were a perfect send-off to a well-deserved summer break.
